Written by Ciara and Missy Elliott and produced by Jazze Pha, it was released as the album's second single in October 2004 (see 2004 in music) in the United States and the second quarter of 2005 (see 2005 in music) internationally. It reached the top ten in several countries worldwide. The song is heavily-inspired by 1980s electro music production. Throughout the lyrics, Ciara gives a description of how the song's beat feels as she demands party-goers to dance to the music. "1, 2 Step" was ranked #5 for the year on the Billboard Year-End Hot 100 singles of 2005.

"In da Club" is a hip hop song performed by rapper 50 Cent from his commercial debut album Get Rich or Die Tryin'. The song was produced by Dr. Dre with co-production from Mike Elizondo. 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, and Elizondo wrote the song. The track was released in January 2003 as the album's lead single and it was positively received by music critics."In da Club" peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming 50 Cent's first number one single. At the 46th Grammy Awards, it was nominated for Best Male Rap Solo Performance and Best Rap Song. The song's music video won Best Rap Video and Best New Artist at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards. In 2009, the single was listed at number 24 in Billboard's Hot 100 Songs of the Decade. It was listed at number 13 in Rolling Stone's "Best Songs of the Decade". In 2010, it was ranked 448th in the Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time list.

In April 2007, it became Akon's first solo U.S. number-one single and second number-one overall. A crucial part of the chorus takes from Bob Marley's 1979 classic "Zimbabwe". The bridge also borrows the melody from R. Kelly's song "Ignition (Remix)". This song was #31 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007. This song was also #81 on MTV Asia's list of Top 100 Hits of 2007

"Rock DJ" is a song by English pop singer Robbie Williams from his fourth album, Sing When You're Winning released in the summer of 2000. The song heavily musically samples Barry White's 1977 song "It's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me". Rock DJ was the fifth best selling of 2000 in the UK.

Released in 2000, the song reached #69 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA, and #16 on the UK charts, and hit #1 on both US Mainstream Rock Tracks and US Modern Rock Tracks. It is notable for its sparse combination of guitar and bass notes in the main riff; guitarist John Frusciante drew inspiration from The Cure song "Carnage Visors".
