Written by Ciara and Missy Elliott and produced by Jazze Pha, it was released as the album's second single in October 2004 (see 2004 in music) in the United States and the second quarter of 2005 (see 2005 in music) internationally. It reached the top ten in several countries worldwide. The song is heavily-inspired by 1980s electro music production. Throughout the lyrics, Ciara gives a description of how the song's beat feels as she demands party-goers to dance to the music. Released in 2000, the song reached #69 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the USA, and #16 on the UK charts, and hit #1 on both US Mainstream Rock Tracks and US Modern Rock Tracks. It is notable for its sparse combination of guitar and bass notes in the main riff; guitarist John Frusciante drew inspiration from The Cure song "Carnage Visors".
