"This Love" is a song by the American rock band Maroon 5. The song was written by frontman Adam Levine for their debut album Songs About Jane (2002). The track is built around a piano-led strut, which is immediately followed by synth percussion, a repeating guitar sound, and wry falsetto.The song's lyrics are based on Adam Levine's break-up with a former girlfriend. He revealed that the song was written in the "most emotionally trying time" in his life.He also describes some of the lyrics in the song as sexual. "This Love" was well-received by music critics, who noted the track's musicscape. It was released on January 27, 2004 as the second single off Songs About Jane.The single entered the top ten on most charts, topping several of Billboard magazine's component charts, including reaching the number one spot on the Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks chart. The music video was met with controversy, regarding extended intimate scenes between Levine and his then-girlfriend. "This Love" helped Maroon 5 win the MTV Video Music Award for Best New Artist and was the third most played song of 2004. The song won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 2006 Grammy Awards, and, to date, is one of Maroon 5's most successful songs.

It reached #1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play in 2000 and peaked #32 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #10 Adult Contemporary. The song also features Justin Timberlake. The single peaked at #8 in the USA, becoming The Black Eyed Peas' first Top 10 hit; the single also peaked at #1 in Australia and the UK. "Where Is the Love?" was performed at the 46th Grammy Awards, and received two nominations for Record of the Year and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration.

In the UK, it failed to chart on its original limited 7" vinyl release, but after "Grace Kelly" topped the charts in January 2007, it managed to peak at #67 on the UK Downloads Chart because of download sales. The song makes use of a melody line from the Cutting Crew hit single "(I Just) Died in Your Arms".Greek singer Tamta sang a remixed version of the song at the MAD Music Videos Awards. In North America, it was released as the third single from the album.The song was released as Mika's sixth single in the UK in stores on 31 December 2007 and for digital download on 24 December 2007 as a double A-side with "Lollipop". This single peaked at number 18 in the UK Singles Chart. The song was also featured prominently in the movie "Were the World Mine".
