"Everytime" is a song by American recording artist Britney Spears from her fourth album, In the Zone. It was released on May 17, 2004, by Jive Records as the third single from the album. After Spears ended her relationship with pop singer Justin Timberlake, she made friends with her backing vocalist Annet Artani. While Spears composed the music in her piano, she wrote the song with Artani in Italy. It is thought to be Spears's response to Timberlake's 2002 single "Cry Me a River", but she has neither confirmed or denied these allegations. "Everytime" is considered an adult pop ballad with breathy vocals. Its lyrics are a plea for forgiveness for inadvertently hurting a former lover."Everytime" was positively received by critics, who complimented its simple lyrics and the organic feel of the song in comparison with most of the tracks of In the Zone. "Everytime" was a big success, peaking inside the top five in most countries, while reaching the top of the charts in Australia, Hungary, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Spears performed "Everytime" in a series of live appearances and in two of her concert tours: on piano in a flowered-themed setting at The Onyx Hotel Tour (2004) and while suspended on a giant umbrella at The Circus Starring Britney Spears (2009).

"I'm Yours" is the first single released by Jason Mraz from his third studio album We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. The song was originally released on a limited edition EP called Extra Credit as a demo in 2005 to promote his second studio album Mr. A–Z. It was performed in his 2004 and 2005 gigs and already became a crowd favorite before its release. "I'm Yours" was nominated for Grammy Award for Song of the Year and Best Male Pop Vocal Performance at the 51st Grammy Awards. It was also used for the Australian Seven Network's promotion of the season premiere of Packed to the Rafters.

"Bad Romance" is a song by American recording artist Lady Gaga and the lead single from her second studio album, The Fame Monster. The track was produced by RedOne and was inspired by the paranoia that Gaga felt while touring from 2008 to 2009. After the demo version of the song leaked, Gaga premiered the song at Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 2010 show in the Paris Fashion Week, on October 6, 2009, followed by the release of the cover art. Containing influences of German house-techno music, "Bad Romance" is a pop experimental record, according to Gaga.Musically, "Bad Romance" features a spoken bridge and full-throated chorus using lyrics that address being in love with one's best friend. It has elements of the music from the 80's and the 90's, and was written by Gaga while touring. Critics gave positive reviews of the song, with the majority of them comparing it to Gaga's second single, "Poker Face" (2008). "Bad Romance" was a commercial success, reaching number one on the UK Singles Chart, Irish Singles Chart, Canadian Hot 100 and the Swedish, German, Austrian and Danish charts, while peaking at number two in countries such as the United States, Australia and New Zealand.

"Need You Now" is the title of a country pop song performed by American country music group Lady Antebellum. The song was co-written by Lady Antebellum and Josh Kear, and produced by the trio along with Paul Worley. It serves as the lead-off single and title track to their second studio album, Need You Now, which was released on January 26, 2010. The song was their debut single in the UK and Europe and was released on April 26, 2010.The lyrics describe placing a call to someone in the middle of the night due to being lonely and longing for companionship.

"Hot n Cold" is a song by American singer Katy Perry. The song was written and composed by Dr. Luke, Max Martin, and Perry for her major mainstream debut album, One of the Boys. The track was released as the album's third single. Its chorus features a series of binary opposites (such as hot/cold, yes/no, in/out, up/down, wrong/right, black/white) to emphasize the unstable nature of the characters' relationship. It reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100, making it Perry's second consecutive top three single, after her previous worldwide hit "I Kissed a Girl". The single has also become Perry's second top five single in dozens of countries around the world, including the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand, as well as topping the charts in Finland, Germany, Canada, Norway, Spain and Denmark. It has topped the charts in more than 15 countries.
