Rose Colored Glasses

Hey guys! Long time sience I've posted here. So life goes on and on with or without my thoughts, but I think maybe it's nicer if I have something to say :-) The song for today is about denial (and bravery). Refusing to let go of that one person causing pain over and over and you giving back love over and over. Is it foolishness or are we sometimes just scared? Or maybe we don't even know we have accustomed to be treated badly? I don't know. But I surely know, one has to be brave to take those rose colored glasses off. The finalist of "The Voice" 2011, Vicci Martinez sang on tuesday night an original song, named Afraid to sleep. For me it was the best original among the other 3 songs. Even thow I kind of wanted Dia Frampton to win the show ( I'm a big fan of Meg&Dia - song Monster rooooks!!!), this is the song that remained in my head after the show.

Au trecut aproape patru luni din 2011 si pana acum se pare a fi un an bun.
Stau si ma uit la Glee (da, recunosc ma uit si la asa ceva, ...doar e cu muzica :D). Sunt unele cantece pe care nu am auzit niciodata, dar care cu mare curaj isi fac loc in playlistul meu pentru cantece de suflet. Este cazul si urmatorului cantec, Landslide.
Ma aflu intr-un moment de tranzitie din viata mea... si mi-e frica pentru ca nu mai am varsta la care joaca sa primeze.
Anyway, se pare ca mai nou foarte greu ma pot aduna sa postez ceva aici. Toata lumea (inclusiv subsemnatul) foloseste la greu facebook, twitter si se pare ca incet incet blogul pare sa piarda teren.
Cand eram in anii liceului si chiar si primii ani de facultate iubeam acest "sport". Eram mult prea introvertit ca sa imi pot permite luxul de a trai cu adeavrat in viata reala. Imi puneam un cantec pe repeat sau mare era minunea sa mearga mai multe piese in timpul starii de creatie pentru ca imi doream o anumita stare. Azi, acum, ascult Landslide. Sunt nostalgic, dar e o melodie genial de... constientizare a sentimentelor.

Eurovision 2011 Romania's winner (choice)

As many know, the Romanian (National) Final of Eurovision was held the night between years. I personally got to watch live (ha, form tv broadcast) only 4 performances. After that, I saw them all, but glad to have had time only for those four. I have to say from the start that my hopes were not that high. Before the live show, my mind was set for Claudia, Leticia or (don't shoot me) Mihai Alexandru. Claudia Pavel was such a disappointment for me as she was my favourite. It seemed like she was in a competition with the female backing-vocal(sorry for not knowing her name), named "who sings louder" and sometimes out of tune. Leticia was decent but far from the studio version. Mihai Alexandru (now you can shoot me) ... what was I thinking? A big NO!
I won't say anyting for the other contestants because they were not my favourites, except of course for the winner.

Hotel FM. The second time in the finals seemed to have brought them luck (with the song Change). 
The first time I heard the song I said to myself - "nice song, but what's with the chorus?, it spoiles everything". And for me it sounded like a song from the 80's, definitely not one for 2011. I have to admit (like Sanda Ladosi loool) they had a very decent performance and good vocals. After about 5 times hearing their song, it kind of got to me. They deserved to win for what they presented on the New Years Eve.
I think we will qualify to the finals, but still, in my mind even to this day, something is not quite right. Mabe because it sounds too old-fashioned and something I've heard before. For example (not plagiarism), the beat from "Pictures of Me"- Elliot Smith, a song from 1997 from the album Either/Or. Listen to both carefully. What do you say/think? Let me know your thoughts about our representatives.

A couple of months ago I heared a song that stuck to my head a few days but for some reason I forgot about it. Last night I heared it again and ohhh sweet sound to my ears. Made me jam along instantly :D
I'm sure you'll like it. The song  (Cat & Mouse) is performed by the american duo Nikki & Rich. I really hope they will release the music video for this song. For the past week I have been listening to Kaitlyn Rosenblum's and I decided to write a post about her. I stumbled upon her music while searching covers for the song "Stereo Love" and I was so surprised. You'll see (hear) why.
She is a young singer from Westchester NY, the winner of Tyler Ward's USA Live Lounge contest. Unfortunately I don't know her age, but it really doesn't matter because her voice it's all that matters.
As today is december 31st, I want to wish to my family, friends and all the readers a Happy New Year! I hope the year 2011 will bring the happiness that we all need.

This is my personal Top 100 Songs of 2000-2010. For me, the hardest decision was to decide among the last 20 songs as all of them are my favourites. After many thoughts, here is the final choice. I hope you'll enjoy it!

Knowles, Jay-Z, and producer Rich Harrison wrote the song for Knowles' debut solo album, Dangerously in Love. The track features a sample from The Chi-Lites' 1970 song "Are You My Woman (Tell Me So)" that serves as the song's horn hook. Released on April 28, 2003 as the album's lead single, "Crazy in Love" has reached number one on the charts of United States and the United Kingdom, and the top ten of many charts worldwide. Its sales grossed 193,110 copies during the first week. "Crazy in Love" was critically acclaimed and has earned Knowles several awards. "These Words" details Bedingfield's lack of inspiration and her reaction to pressure from her record label to produce a hit song."These Words" was released as the album's second international single and as the lead single in North America. The single sold well, reached the top forty worldwide, and topped the charts in both Ireland and the United Kingdom. "Human" is a song by American alternative rock band The Killers, and was released as the first single from the band's third studio album Day & Age. It premiered on Zane Lowe's evening show on BBC Radio 1 on September 22, 2008, with a digital release on September 30, 2008. It became the third song by the band to enter the top 5 of the UK singles chart. It was their first top ten hit in the Netherlands (peaking at #2). The song was released on a 7-inch picture disc throughout the world on various dates in November, with a B-side entitled "A Crippling Blow".
In the US "Human" debuted at number 13 on Billboard's Hot Modern Rock Tracks chart, and has reached number six thus far. It is the band's sixth top ten hit on the chart. The song debuted and peaked at number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100 on the chart week of October 18, 2008, giving The Killers their third top forty hit there. It reached number 3 on the UK Singles chart and on the Canadian Hot 100, the song debuted at number nine. It debuted at number 34 on the New Zealand RIANZ chart, and entered at number four on the Norway Top 20 before reaching number one. "Unfaithful" is a ballad written by Ne-Yo, Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen for R&B singer Rihanna's second album, A Girl like Me. It was produced by Stargate and released as the album's second single in mid-2006. "Unfaithful" reached number six on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart in July 2006. The single was released July 17, 2006 in the UK and Australia where it was already available for downloads worldwide. It debuted at number sixteen in the UK Singles Chart on downloads alone one week prior to its physical release. The following week, July 24, it jumped to number two on the UK Singles Chart after a physical release (held off number one by Shakira and Wyclef Jean with "Hips Don't Lie"), becoming Rihanna's third number two hit in the UK, after "Pon De Replay" and "SOS". It is her second solo number-one single in the United States after 2001's "Fallin'". "No One" was ranked at number forty-two on The Billboard Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs and number fourteen on the Top Billboard Hot 100 R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. "Just Like a Pill" is a pop rock song by American singer Pink. It was written and produced by Dallas Austin and Pink for her second studio album Missundaztood. The lyrics of the song deal with getting out of painful relationships, with a subtheme about drug abuse. The song was released worldwide as the third single from Missundaztood in June 2002 and was a commercial success, peaking at number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. It also performed well internationally, becoming her first number-one on the UK Singles Chart and reaching the top 10 in, amongst other countries, Ireland, France, the Netherlands and Sweden.

"Poker Face" is a song by American recording artist Lady Gaga from her debut album, The Fame. Produced by RedOne, it was released as the album's second single in late 2008 for some markets and in early 2009 for the rest of the world. The song is an uptempo dance-pop song in the key of A flat minor, following in the footsteps of her previous single "Just Dance" but has a darker musical tone. The main idea behind the song is bisexuality and was a tribute by Gaga to her rock n' roll boyfriends. Lyrically "Poker Face" is about sex and gambling. In the United States, the song entered the Billboard Hot 100 at ninety-two and reached number six on the issue dated March 7, 2009. The next week the song climbed another three places to reach a peak of three and stayed there for two additional weeks. On the Billboard issue dated April 11, 2009, the song topped the chart.

It has also received airplay from AOL Radio's New Pop First station. The song was written by The Smeezingtons, Khalil Walton, and Needlz and produced by The Smeezingtons, and Needlz. The music video, directed by Ethan Lader, was released on September 8, 2010 and features actress Nathalie Kelley. The track has been added to Radio 1 A Playlist in the United Kingdom, and was released in the United Kingdom on September 19, 2010 as "Just the Way You Are (Amazing)".The official remix features rapper Lupe Fiasco and is included on the deluxe edition of Doo-Wops & Hooligans. The song earned Mars a Grammy nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

"Everytime" is a song by American recording artist Britney Spears from her fourth album, In the Zone. It was released on May 17, 2004, by Jive Records as the third single from the album. After Spears ended her relationship with pop singer Justin Timberlake, she made friends with her backing vocalist Annet Artani. While Spears composed the music in her piano, she wrote the song with Artani in Italy. It is thought to be Spears's response to Timberlake's 2002 single "Cry Me a River", but she has neither confirmed or denied these allegations. "Everytime" is considered an adult pop ballad with breathy vocals. Its lyrics are a plea for forgiveness for inadvertently hurting a former lover."Everytime" was positively received by critics, who complimented its simple lyrics and the organic feel of the song in comparison with most of the tracks of In the Zone. "Everytime" was a big success, peaking inside the top five in most countries, while reaching the top of the charts in Australia, Hungary, Ireland and the United Kingdom. Spears performed "Everytime" in a series of live appearances and in two of her concert tours: on piano in a flowered-themed setting at The Onyx Hotel Tour (2004) and while suspended on a giant umbrella at The Circus Starring Britney Spears (2009).

"I'm Yours" is the first single released by Jason Mraz from his third studio album We Sing. We Dance. We Steal Things. The song was originally released on a limited edition EP called Extra Credit as a demo in 2005 to promote his second studio album Mr. A–Z. The track was produced by RedOne and was inspired by the paranoia that Gaga felt while touring from 2008 to 2009. "Bad Romance" was a commercial success, reaching number one on the UK Singles Chart, Irish Singles Chart, Canadian Hot 100 and the Swedish, German, Austrian and Danish charts, while peaking at number two in countries such as the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
